Robin Hood move on over, there is a new archer in town! Is it okay to say Holy Cow?! Vispilio is a new fantasy that everyone should read at least once and then some more. The story follows the MC Anthony as he navigates through life as he is thrown into a kingdom full of rumors, jealously, and possible romance. The life Anthony once knew as peaceful becomes more complicated as the story goes on. Other reviews mention some resemblance to the classic Robbin Hood, however, do not let that scare you, Audrey created a story that is unique with its own storyline. One thing I enjoyed while reading were the character development. It was intriguing to read about moral characters making flawed or not so good choices, and the evil characters actually making good choices. Sometimes it can be a struggle from time to time when it comes to making moral characters choose bad/flawed choices and immoral characters making decent/good choices because of the possibility of tainting the original images of the characters (regardless if they are meant to be good or bad overall). The story had great pacing, there was never a dull moment in the story. There was always something to look forward to on the next page, and when I thought I knew what was going to happen next, I was wrong; and I loved it. In todays world, sometimes I run across a fantasy book that was easy to predict, I loved that Vispilio wasn’t one of those books.

I love fantasy because when I am reading it feels like I am leaving reality for a bit and going on my own adventure with the characters. When reading I also look for how good the storyline/plot is and does it make sense, are the characters showing development, can the characters be relatable, when written in multiple POVs is it easy to tract the storyline with each character. The author definitely got an A+ in my book. Overall this was an amazing story, and a great beginning to what I hope is a trilogy/series. The plot was character driven and the story overall was unique. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for something new and fresh to read, or to help get you out of your reading slump!
