Vampires of El Norte was a BOTM option in August, and you guys know I had to snap it up! I don’t read a ton of historical fiction, but when you throw in the promises of vampires and magic…well, then you have my attention.

Vampires of El Norte is a Western drama with a dash of forbidden love – plus a battle against (multiple) evil (s). I have much to share about Vampires of El Norte, but I’m hesitant as it might reveal spoilers. What I can express is my genuine enjoyment of this tale. It unfolds from two perspectives, Nena’s and NΓ©stor’s, hinting at a forbidden romance.

The narrative of Vampires of El Norte is wonderfully intricate, interweaving themes of trauma, familial dynamics, and the complexities of local politics. Any of these elements alone would make a compelling story, but add vampires, and you have a captivating blend.
