I’ve heard a lot (and I mean A LOT) about The Writing Retreat. Some good, some bad. So I had to dive in and see what it was all about for myself, you know? The story is about Alex, a struggling writer who jumps at the chance to go on a writing retreat. She hoped it would help her overcome her writing slump, but she had no idea how much danger she was signing up for…

The Writing Retreat nails its ambiance, making it a riveting and bone-chilling read. It’s akin to a complex puzzle but with an added layer of stress and suspense. If you crave a book with numerous plot twists, I highly recommend The Writing Retreat.

What I loved most about this book is how expertly it ratchets up the tension. Who is the mastermind behind all the chaos? How deep does the conspiracy go? Will anyone come out unscathed? These are just a few of the questions that raced through my mind.

Additionally, The Writing Retreat deserves praise for its subtle social commentary, underscoring its feminist thriller genre. It’s a welcome and deftly handled addition to the story.
