A young Russian pianist is murdered at the Queenβs dine and sleep and the Queen is unhappy with MI5βs investigation.Β She asks her private secretary, Rozie Oshodi, to quietly investigate. And with a name like that, how can you not root for her to solve the mystery?
This book is so playful and fun with quirky characters like Rozie and a down to earth Queen working to unwind what happened to the young Russian.Β While it is billed as a cozy mystery, it really is so much more entertaining than that.Β I like that there is a twist on the well read genre.Β I donβt read a lot of cozies because they are a lot alike just a different surrounding for the story.Β This is such a fresh take having it take place at the famed Windsor Castle with the beloved Queen.
Can you imagine if the Queen of England has been quietly solving murders with a few discreet staff for years?Β I like the idea of the alternate, quiet life of someone whoβs so different in our perception of her.Β Being in the US it was also fun to see how other nations view the Russians and Putin.
And I heard the author speak on how she did much research on the Queenβs schedule, which is apparently public, to have the basis of the story based in reality.
I recommend this for anyone wanting to take a break from reality and cozy up with a sleuth solving Queen.
