This was a light-hearted, if chaotic, story that follows the (mis)adventures of the titular character.. Charlie finds himself in a series of complicated and hilarious situations. The entire plot revolves around Charlie trying on the left foot of a pair of Adidas running shoes, figuring out his relationships and a builder who has murderous tendencies. I was engaged the entire book and loved Charlie and his quirkiness. The different plot twists were a bonus.
What I enjoyed the most about this story was the author’s ability to mix humour with emotion. One minute I was laughing out loud at Charlie and his antics and the next I was generally touched and sympathised with his struggles. The side characters added depth to the story and every single one of them contributed to the chaos.
This book was the perfect read for me cause I needed a good laugh. I love quirky characters and found this such an entertaining escape. The style of the writing was engaging, and the pacing kept me turning pages, anxious to see what Charlie would get up to next. I recommend this book wholeheartedly because it was humorous with a touch of mayhem. It’s a satisfying and enjoyable read.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
