This is a cute, funny, romance story. Friend to lovers trope.

Jojo has trouble making commitments. In the opening pages, she abandons her groom at the altar. She thinks she has figured out what is wrong with her, and goes on a cruise (her sister’s wedding cruise) in order to attract a certain man.

While it’s a sweet story, it’s a little too fluffy and silly for me. Ms. Center’s books have always had humour in them, which I liked. But, previously, there has been an underlying tone of a serious theme. Perhaps there was one in this story, but sadly, I did not recognize it, if it was there.

On the positive side, I read this after my previous read, which was long and intense. This book provided an authentic necessary “palette cleanser”. It was a quick read.

This author has a large fan base, and I see that there are already a lot of positive reviews. The readers are out there, this book is not terrible. It’s just not the book for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the Advance Readers Copy.
