Sloane Chase and Senator Whit Montgomery lost their spouses in a tragic chain of events. When they are finally ready to move on, they found themselves drawn together and settling down with each other. Back to being a senator’s wife, Sloane attends various events such as dinners at the White House, with her new husband. Earlier in life, she had been diagnosed with Lupus and now needs hip replacement surgery. Whit decides to hire a home health aide to help Sloane with after her surgery with the medications and admin work with Sloane’s foundation. Sloane seems to be getting sicker and sicker. Athena seems to be asking a lot of questions and Whit seems to be spending time with Athena? Sloane becomes very suspicious of Athena as she gets weaker and weaker.

Well, this book didn’t turn out the way that I thought it was going to! I was worried that I had read this book before (as in, it seemed really similar to other books that I had read) but then the twists started – one, two, three of them that I didn’t see coming from a mile away. It did slow for me a bit in the middle, but then the pace picked right up and I was on the edge of my seat, reading as fast as I could, to learn what was going to happen! This is told in multiple point of views and it grabbed my attention right from the first chapter. A must read for fans of these authors, and for anyone that loves thrillers that come with twists that you cannot see coming!
