Theoretically, this book has all the components of a book that I should like. It has sisters. It has a bookstore. It has authors. It is set on the beach in Cape Cod. Yet, for me, it falls short in the execution.

It feels like everything in the book is a glossed-over version of the actual event. Hannah is the main character but we don’t really get to know her. It’s the way I feel about every character. They are very one-dimensional.

The storyline floated over details. The reader never gets any depth to the story.

It remains a light read, I suppose it is suitable when someone needs an easy storyline. I did keep reading because I wanted to know which man Hannah ends up with, whether or not Maggie reunites with her husband. In other words, I cared enough to stick with it. I just needed more.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the Advance Readers Copy.
