Frankie Morgan has a bit of an anger problem. Who could blame her though. She lost her mother as a young girl when she became a victim of a hit and run. Her next-door neighbor is something to be desired, and the clients she has to deal with are a whole other story. After an incident with a client, she voluntarily agrees to go to anger management to please her father, for whom she works. In the first session she attends, they talk about forgiving people that may have wronged you. Frankie makes the list, including her own name. But the list goes missing and then one by one people that are on the list begin to get hurt, making her forgiveness list a revenge list.
I would give this book a solid 3.5 stars, rounding up to 4. This thriller is the true definition of a slow burn. I understand that there needed to be things that happened to set up the scene, but it really felt like it took a long time to get to “the good stuff.” It got to the point quickly, but the more interesting occurrences happened towards the end. There was a lot of telling within the novel, a lot of description and inner monologue. And for those that have seen my reviews, they know that I much prefer dialogue so I can feel like the character. I will say that I didn’t see the whodunit and I didn’t see the second twist that came in after figuring out the whodunit. So, it really was a mystery to me the entire time. That part I really enjoyed. Also, the author set this up so that there could be a sequel, and I really would like to read that! Hopefully that one would have a tad bit more excitement throughout and not just at the end. Overall, I would recommend this book.
