Well, I will say that this one doesn’t live up to Hidden Pictures. Frank has been estranged from his daughter Maggie for three years. So he’s surprised when he gets a call from her one day telling him that she’s getting married and she’d like him there. He’s really happy to hear from here and to be able to be at her wedding. Maggie is marrying Aidan Gardner, the son of a tech billionaire, and the wedding is at their mansion in New Hampshire. Throughout the weekends’ festivities, Frank is trying to spend time with Maggie, but she is always too busy. On top of that, Frank learns that some people don’t particular care for the Gardners, and for good reason. As Frank starts to learn more about the Garnder family, he uncovers secrets he could never had imagined.
I don’t know why this book is described as a thriller or a suspense book. It’s more like a family drama. I found the story line to be interesting, but I wasn’t gripped, it wasn’t a page turner. Honestly, it was kind of a let down after reading Hidden Pictures, which I absolutely loved. There was just no wow factor with this book. I really wanted the wow factor.
I found most of the characters to be annoying. Really, the only one that I enjoyed throughout the whole entire book was Abigail. The Gardners were typical rich folks thinking that they can get away with anything. Maggie is obnoxious. Tammy seems to not have a single original though and is just naive. Frank could be funny at times, and he wound up being an okay guy, but there were also times that I thought he was a bit over the top.
It’s not a bad book, but it’s nothing like his other book. If you like a good family drama, then you’ll enjoy this book.
