What a fun, intriguing, and unique story. This book follows Kasta, a treasure seeker who is always on the lookout for great finds. A collector who sought Kasta and hired her to find a weapon called “Vellon’s Blade”. The collector also assigned Sir Dresco Norte, a warrior to be her companion on the search for the blade (although it wasn’t her choice). On the search for the blade we find our main characters bickering with one another, but they will need to put their differences aside and work together because there are enemies who are also after the blade and its power. I did not know what to expect when I started the story, as I read I found myself immersed in the story to where I wanted to continue reading but I also wanted to savor the story because I did not want the story to end. What I absolutely loved about The Hunter and The Knight, is the humor that was added into the story. The dialogue between Kasta and Dresco continued to become funnier as the story continued. The author did a wonderful job with the mash up of different genres (fantasy, sci-fi, and western), it was easy to read and understand, the words simply flowed together. Sometimes we find a story with multiple genres combined, but the story didn’t flow well or did not make sense, this was not the case at all for The Hunter and the Knight. I am excited to read the rest of the series and to follow our heroes as they continue their adventure, and to see what witty dialogue the author thought of.
** Also the artwork in the book is simply mind blowing and beautiful**
