Where to begin with this review. This is a psychological thriller that takes place in Sweden, bodies of teenage boys are showing up around Stockholm with evidence of torture, it is up to the lead detective, Jeanette Kihlberg, and her crew to solve these crimes. The book doesn’t only follow Detective Kihlberg, but also a psychotherapist Sofia Zetterlund. As the two females begin to work together, they will soon realize that both of them have the knowledge to catch a killer if they just work together.

Fantasy is usually always my go to genre to read almost everyday, however I had the sudden urge and interest to pick up a thriller and I am glad it was “The Crow Girl”. I was immediately drawn into the book after the first page, I did not want to put it down. I became captivated in the story that the author, Erik Axl Sund created. One of the reason’s why I decided to pick this book is because it was happening in another country. I feel that thriller books that take place overseas and that they have to be translated into english are more dark in a sense as if they do not have to sensor anything. I feel that the author created a story that will chill any reader to their bones and want to continue on with the story. The story to mean was evenly paced, there were rarely any parts that I thought boring or unnecessary. When a character is introduced, regardless if it is a major character or a side character, I instantly start to think they will place a bigger role in the story somehow. There were parts of the book that were intense to the point where I had to put the book down for a day and focused on a lighter read, buy I could never stay away from “The Crow Girl” I needed to know what happen and what was next. There were so many twists and turns, when I thought I figured something out, the author would go in a while other direction that I did not see coming . I feel that the author truly created a masterpiece so dark and so eerie that it became one of my top books of the year.
