I’m always a fan of crime fiction and add a dog and I’m over the moon. And even better when the dog has a purpose. When you throw in a missing pharmaceutical ceo, the story could be ripped from the headlines.

I’m a fan of the balance with Meg and Hawk and that there’s another handler and dog searching to show how they complement each other in a search. Meg’s wedding puts her part on a timer and when there’s an incident with another dog, the suspense and pace escalates.

The story started a little slow but after the setup, I was all in wanting to know what happened and if they’d make Meg’s deadline.

Susan Bennett does a great great job conveying the urgency and intensity of the search. She brought the story to life.
