What a great start to spooky reading.  This reminded me a little of the Sookie Stackhouse series minus the vampires.  It is a little campy, a lot of fun, a little romance and some spooky.  I really am a fan of dark comedy and this one does that well.

Honestly is unlike your average horror or even paranormal romance.  We have Rory (I kept thinking Gilmore Girls) who is attacked and becomes a werewolf as she temporarily moved home to help her pregnant sister.  She must figure out how to adapt and who she can trust with her secret.  The cast of characters are flawed and that makes them relatable.  The pace moved along and kept me wanting more.

As I switched back and forth from the audio to the book, I can’t decide which I liked better. Kristin Sieh is becoming one of my favorite narrators. She seems to be narrating everything I’m listening to lately.

It was the uniqueness blended with the dark comedy that kept me reading.  This should be on your fall reading list if you like werewolves and dark humor.
