In the vein of SJ Watson’s Before I Go to Sleep and Christopher Nolan’s cult classic Memento, Megan Goldin’s Stay Awake is an electrifying novel that plays with memory and murder.

From the description I just knew I would enjoy this read, I had high hopes for Stay Awake and I was not disappointed. Megan Goldin has put the thrill in thrilling. I was hooked from the first bone chilling scene and loved every minute of this wild ride.

Live wakes up in a taxi, confused and alone. As she starts to piece together the current and past events she realizes something is very wrong. Furthermore, every time she falls asleep her memory is wiped out. This creates a story where Liv is racing against the clock to uncover the truth and save herself.

The reader is taken along for a ride while Liv is anxious and confused running around the city trying to piece together the story of what happened and how she got here, could she be capable of murder and if not, who is the killer? Multiple murders and changing time lines will keep you on your toes as you try to connect the dots and decipher the truth.

I thought the plot was fast paced and interesting and it definitely took some time to figure out the murderer. If you’re looking for your next read to keep you up all night turning the pages – add Stay Awake to your TBR list!
