This is a low-stakes fantasy that is a relatively short read. It follows Sorine and newly befriended comrades as they adventure through different kingdoms to find the legendary scroll. This story was a quick read for me, I couldn’t help but wonder what will happen next.

The main female character Sorine finds herself meeting and befriending a princess from another kingdom and that is how the adventure starts. Along their journey they meet friends but also enemies. The more people she meet and befriended the more the company grew and their efforts to find the scroll.

What I loved most about this story is how the author had written Sorine and how you can see that the character grows throughout the story by regaining the memories she’s lost and figuring out who she really is, now that was a twist for me when I continued to read and learned that Sorine may not be the Sorine that was introduced to us at the beginning of the story. The character development is not complex by any means but it is nice to read a fantasy where things do not get confusing or too complicated. There is minimal tension and conflict in the story, while reading I think the author wanted to show that there are fantasy stories that can still be a great read even without the tension and conflict.

Overall, it was a fun short read, and I appreciate how the author allowed myself to enter into the world that they created.
