I’m coming to learn that sometimes a found family is even better than the ones we’re assigned to.
Not a lot of books tear me up inside, but the end of this one did. It definitely had a Robin Hood feel to it and the FMC was no Maid Marian. As much as society was giving her, she knew how to give right back. She found a new family as well as forgiving herself and her sister. Jack, he was the father figure we all wish we had. I loved how he saw only the good in others, no matter a person’s past he always gave them a second chance at life. I also really liked how this gang of outcasts in this podunk town in the middle of nowhere used their influences and unity for the good of the town. There was a lot of unity in this book. I loved that. This was more than just a spicy relationship; it was about a town that needed to heal after a disaster. A town that needed to learn to stick together, and the members alienated who needed to find each other.
