The first thing I said once I finished Remnant of a Scarlet Flame was “Is the second book out yet” (lol). This book along with the author has made it into my top fantasy books to read and favorite fantasy author. Instantly you are immersed into a world with breathtaking and loveable characters (some took a while to grow on me), high stake political intrigue, battle scenes, and creative world-building that will surely keep you begging for more. I’ve grown to love books with multiple POVs and this book is no different. The author did a phenomenal job with writing multiple POVs,when the story switched to another character, the transition was smoothe and it did not disrupt the flow of the book. If I had to pick my favorite part of the book, I could not pick just one thing, but if I had to, I’d pick how the author showcased her skills when creating a world with multiple species, such as mages, elves, and dragons. This book did not disappoint one bit. I am excited to continue the story and to see how much the characters continue to grow.
