Girl meets boy. Girl and boy fall in love. Girl and boy get drunk and high, get into car. Girl crashes car. Boy dies. Girl goes to jail. Girl has baby. Girl gives up baby to boy’s parents. Girl tries to redeem herself.
That’s my synopsis. This is an odd book to review. It is an easy read, a fast read. But, I could not stop reading it. It was like a train wreck, I could not look away. All because of the plot.
I like Kenna (Girl). She’s a person who went through a lot yet seems to have a good head on her shoulders. I could empathize with her and her dilemma.
I also like Ledger (Boy’s best friend). He seems very real, he tries to help Kenna solve her dilemma.
It’s a great beach read or plane read.
In conclusion, maybe when you have a good story to tell and good characters to write about, it’s best to keep the writing simple.
So, this is my simply written review about a book that I felt was also simply written. Actually, 3.5 stars promoted to 4 stars.
