This is the story of four individuals whose lives are about to change. Sherry Low’s One series of books are always enjoyable for me and I think it’s because of the characters she creates. I called this her One “series” but it’s not really a series. Every book can be read as a standalone they just all happen to have the word one in the title and everything happens over a certain period of time, this one takes place over 24 hours.

Like her other One books this has some familiar characters as well, I was especially pleased to see Alice and Val again. Low always writes compelling characters and those two are my favorites. This one takes place in January 2025 so it’s perfect as a New Year read.

The four different points of view read easily and flowed well together. I love how seamlessly they all ended at the airport even if it was a little bit far-fetched at the end. I was so happy the author didn’t go the way I thought she would with two of the story arcs and that bumped it up to four stars for me. It just tied up a little too perfectly in other ways.

I really like this book but I wish authors would stop throwing people into relationships so quickly after they’ve left one. It takes time to mourn a relationship and jumping into one so quickly after the breakdown of an engagement is not a good idea. We women do not need men to live happy, full lives. If you have a great one I am happy for you but it’s because of love and commitment not because you can’t be alone.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the Advance Readers Copy.
