I love me some Freida McFadden. 6 friends decide to take a trip together. Claire and her husband Noah, Jack and his wife Michelle, Lindsay and her boyfriend Warner. On the way to the inn where they are supposed to be staying, Claire’s minivan breaks down and they decide to walk. Now they are lost in the woods. There’s animals in there, and something sinister. One by one, each seem to die or disappear, and there’s only one that will make it home.

OMG this was SO good! I don’t know why I wanted so long to read this book. Freida always does a great job of creating a thrilling atmosphere and thrilling situations that will keep you on the edge of your seat, turning pages, until you reach the very end. And this book is no different.

Each of the characters are distinct. You feel bad for some, like others, and dislike at least one (well I didn’t care for Michelle and I do wish I had gotten to know why she is the way she is).

The chapters are mainly told from Claire’s point of view, but there are anonymous chapters in there as well. Those are the chapters of the person behind all of it. I had a few suspicions, but man I was WRONG! I love being wrong, it’s fun when you get to the reveal and you’re really surprised. That’s the best part of the book!

This is an absolutely MUST READ from McFadden.
