I just finished bingeing His & Hers on Netflix (which was great!) when I saw that Alice Feeney had a new book out I just knew I was in for another thrilling twisty story and wow My Husband’s Wife is a wild ride.
The story opens with Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break who seemingly has it all, until she doesn’t. With one moment her life with her wonderful husband, a brand new beautiful home, a fresh start at life together in Hope Falls slips from her hands. By the end of the book you will be replaying plenty of little moments trying to pinpoint the exactly decision that made her lose it all.
At its core, this story explores how identity can be shaped, stolen, or rewritten. With multiple points of view the reader gets glimpses of the story and has to try to piece together what is true and what is manipulated by the characters perception. There were a few times where I thought I had pieced together enough of the story that I could see where it was going and had figured out at least some of the motives but then a thread would come loose and I would be back guessing about literally everything. Alice Feeney keeps you reeling until the very last second with this one.
There was a lot going on in this book and I don’t know if all of the storylines meshed together as well as I would have liked, personally I would have enjoyed more history on Birdie and her family, I liked the parallel story lines she was experiencing with her estranged grandmother and could have done with less of the weird AI powered doomsday company that Harrison owned but I see how it propelled some of the storylines. I did love the small coastal town charm, the dark history and spooky big house vibes.
In short, you’ll be hooked from the first chapter and questioning everything by the last and I think it’s safe to say Alice Feeney is singlehandedly keeping us well fed on twisty psychological thrillers that leave us second-guessing even our own thoughts, choices, and perceptions.

Rolé @ Hooked By That Book
This book is on my list and I am very curious to see how it plays out. Great review.
