“Stories don’t always end the way they’re supposed to. They don’t always end at all.”

For me, this was another hit from Simone St. James! April and Eddie just got married and they are on their way to their honeymoon. They take a wrong turn and find a girl walking along the side of the road. After they convince her to get into the car, they realize she’s bleeding. Unfortunately, she dies at the hospital. April and Eddie become suspects. And unexplained murders have been occurring on that road for many years. As they begin to investigate so that they can clear themselves, they soon learn that there is more happening then they ever imagined.

I absolutely love St. James’ books! Supernatural stuff isn’t usually my deal, but St. James does it in a way that I love. She creates these really creepy atmospheres that scare the bees out of me, but I love it! The atmospheres will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

Cold Lake Falls in the perfect setting for this book, as well as the citizens that live there. I especially loved Rose. She is the owner of the bed and breakfast that April and Eddie stay at while they have to stay in town. At first she seems a little off and weird, but she’s a wonderful character and really helps make the book. I also loved that Detective Quentin turned out to be different that I thought he was.

This is a must read for anyone that likes thrillers with a touch of supernatural.
