I will begin by saying I bought this book on accident but decided to roll with it as I had heard it was good on a few Facebook group post. I used the audio version as I typically do for car rides to and from work. I had not really expected to love it and was a little concerned about the ages of the characters. It’s been many years since I was part of a high school and usually tend to lean more toward an older age group.
I was so pleasantly surprised with this book. It did take a bit for my attachment to them to grow. Let just say when it did, I grew very attached. The boys referred to as the “losers” won me over. I would give Character development a hand of applause. The audible version has very good voices for each character. Both male and female with helps me better enjoy my listening experience.
It brought back memories of high school and maybe even some of the reasons I prefer to steer clear of books with that setting. It was much more of an emotional experience than Id have ever thought it would be. I had the book called out as a simply smut with very little plot. What I got was a great plot and a journey into a world I will definitely miss. These characters will live on in my thoughts for a long while. This book touched my heart while still delivering a huge dose of spice. My first read by Harley Laroux was very enjoyable!
