Kerri Maniscalco, the author famous for her Stalking Jack the Ripper series is back with a whole new series (and the world) for fans to dive into. Kingdom of the Wicked is the tale of magic, sisterly bonds, and the Wicked-princes of Hell.

Emilia and her twin, Vittoria are special. They’re streghe, witches, and handed a task that they never knew the whole story of. These two women have incredible power, but unfortunately, power cannot always protect the ones we love.

It can, however, work to avenge it. That is the path that Emilia is on now, going after the Wicked princes of Hell with a fierce determination. She doesn’t know which one was the cause for the loss of her sister, but she intends to find out.

There is so much to love about appreciate about this novel, from the characters to the world they live in, and everything in between. It’s dark and twisted, living up to all the promises made from that stunning cover and description.

Emilia’s trials were harrowing and yet so beautifully and painfully human. It’s impossible to read her story and not find a worthwhile connection there. Her raw emotions made the entire story come to life, all the beauty and all of what was at stake.

Kingdom of the Wicked was a thrilling and intense read, right from the very first chapter. It sucked me in and left me with one of the worst book hangovers, once I finally hit the conclusion. That’s when you know you’ve found a great book!
