I only recently discovered the works of Gillian McAllister, but I’ve got to say – I’m hooked! So when I saw Just Another Missing Person available as a BOTM option, I knew I had to grab it while I had the chance.

I had high hopes for Just Another Missing Person, and I was initially quite engrossed. I was particularly drawn to its core concept: a dedicated detective delving into a series of missing-person cases.

However, this narrative suffered from a significant issue: it didn’t know when to stop. The story piled mystery upon mystery to the point where there were at least half a dozen revelations and twists by the end. It became overwhelming! I questioned why character X acted in a certain way, as it didn’t align with their motivations, or why character Y even cared. That’s just one example.
