“The subject matter is dark and scary, but my overwhelming feeling while writing this book was one of hope and appreciation.”

These words couldn’t speak more truth than anything that could be said about such atrocities. I really commend the author for speaking up for the sisters and the victims that went through the trauma. It is absolutely amazing that he was able to speak the whole family for interviews. Something that went through my mind was the interviewer in the show “Tattooist of Auschwitz” she was so engrossed in the story she wrote that she got PTSD. I wonder how the author was able to wind down from all this dark knowledge.

I am overjoyed that past the traumatic childhood these women suffered through, even though they may have lapses of PTSD that they have a more loving and free life now. I appreciate the Afterword and even the Acknowledgment which explained a lot more about how victims that survive such atrocities especially if it was from parental figure may feel in ways that an outsider would never understand.
