I haven’t read Meghan Quinn yet and I’m questioning myself as to WHY?!?! This was such a fun read! This is like a spicy romance of How The Grinch Stole Christmas and I am here for it! Storee comes back with her sister Taran to take care of their Great Aunt Cindy because she broke her hip. Cindy lives in a town where it’s Christmas all year round. But it’s that time of year and it’s time for the Christmas Kringle contest, which she’s determined to win. But not if Cole has anything to say about it. With a sad past and anger towards Storee, Cole is determined to keep Storee from winning the contest. That includes fake dating to save face in front of the townspeople. Everything was going as planned, until they kissed.

Meghan Quinn has a way with words. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t put together the connection of the title and the Grinch movie/book at first (yeah yeah yeah, I’m overworked). There are these little rhymes at the beginning of the chapters, and some interactions with the narrator throughout, and I said to myself that it felt very Dr. Seuss like! Then after I finished reading, I really looked at the cover, and it all came together in my head. Quinn did this with utter perfection. It was so brilliant and I loved the rhymes.

The chemistry between Cole and Storee leapt off the page. The banter, the competition between the two, and their growth together, it all worked together and fit together so well. Oh, and there are some SPICY scenes.

I also really loved the town, and the competition. I wish I lived in a small town that had such a thing. This really is the perfect holiday read!
