What happens when someone dreams outside the world of their loved ones?

Heathers Journey is about a girl in her adolescent era becoming a young woman during the Prohibition time. Her father gets murdered, and she rescued her kid sister and takes a long road trip with bootlegger Renato; the handsome Puerto Rican who captivated Heathers heart. The characters are a mix of outcasts in a time when if you were colored you were treated differently.

Heather’s journey not only helps her find her individuality, but it also helps her to become the strong woman she ends up being and brings Renato and Heather together, against all odds. This book captivates you with the happenings of the Prohibition era with flappers, speakeasies and a fun-packed dialogue that puts a spotlight on the characters you get introduced.

They go through racial trial after trial on the run from Heathers mother. Meanwhile Renato and Heather become better than acquaintance. This was a charming read of three unlikely people drawn together by the circumstances around them.
