Short Summary of book: Harry Potter was born a normal boy (so he thought), he was told by his mean aunt and uncle that his parents died in a car crash. While they treated their son (Harry’s nephew) as if he was a king, they treated Harry poorly. Harry’s room was a cubboard under the stairs. Strange things would happen to Harry, that even he could not explain. Until one day on his 11th birthday he was told “You’re a Wizard Harry”. There truly beings our journey as we grow with Harry and his 2 best friends as they learn and protect those they care about at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the evils that still lurk in every corner.
Oh wow this was an amazing audiobook. First off, I am not big on audiobooks but I do not dislike them… I think I am just picky with the narrator. When I heard there will be a full-cast audio edition of all 7 of the Harry Potter books, I was (still am) excited and somewhat hesitant at first. When I started to listen to the Sorcerer’s Stone, I immediately felt like this was my first time being introduced to the wizarding world. Cush Jumbo is the narrator for the books and she does a phenomenal job of telling the story and bringing it to life along with the full cast. The full cast of characters hit the nail on the head (I think that is the correct expression). Each actor/actress were immersed in their roles and they brought each character, big and small, to life. It really felt like I was reliving the first time I read the books and I was welcomed back as an old friend. What I adored about this audiobook was that none of the characters’ voices fell flat, there was so much emotion and originality behind these characters, I just couldn’t stop listening. I also felt that whoever cast the full cast did a terrific job as well, the voices fit well with the characters, and I am excited to listen to the rest of the series.
