These are the questions Nick Dunne finds himself asking on the morning of his fifth wedding anniversary when his wife Amy suddenly disappears. The police suspect Nick. Amy’s friends reveal that she was afraid of him, that she kept secrets from him. He swears it isn’t true. A police examination of his computer shows strange searches. He says they weren’t made by him. And then there are the persistent calls on his mobile phone.
So what did happen to Nick’s beautiful wife?
My Review:
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It’s hard to believe Gone Girl was published over ten years ago. I vividly remember reading this thrilling book and going to see the movie shortly after, and loving both. As someone who has read many thrillers, I wasn’t expecting to be so blown away by this book—it was my first Gillian Flynn read, and it set a high bar for the genre.
The way Flynn masterfully weaves together the perspectives of Nick and Amy, keeping readers on their toes with twists and turns, is nothing short of genius. The psychological depth and complexity of the characters make Gone Girl a standout, and the plot’s unpredictability kept me hooked from start to finish. Every chapter left me craving more, and the unexpected ending absolutely blew my mind.
If you haven’t read Gone Girl yet, it’s an absolute must-read for any thriller fan. Flynn’s storytelling and the book’s gripping twist earn it a well-deserved 5 stars in my book. This novel will forever remain a favorite on my shelf.
