I can’t begin to do this book justice with a review, but holy smokes, it was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t put it down! I loved the POV spread and how we got a lot of different angles of the story, while still not getting everything and being shocked at the end.

Sora, the poison maiden, the girl trying to save her sister and win their freedom. Ty, the insurance that Sora does her job. Aeri, the clever and skilled theif. Royo, the strongman Aeri hired to keep her safe. Euyn, the exiled prince of Yusan, and Mikail, the king’s own spymaster.

As they all make their way to kill King Joon, they get to know one another, giving us glimpses into who they are and what their motivations are. Each pair grows closer becomes a team as they make their way to their destination. Euyn and Mikail even revisiting their history with each other, and all of them trying to decide how much to reveal and trust. Five clever liars working together to take the throne…plus one count’s son…also a liar. What could go wrong?

Classic fantasy mixed with a sprinkle of romance, a dash of heist, and a lot of deceit, Five Broken Blades is one of the best books I’ve read all year!
