I guess I’m trying to say…you want your control back but, you already have it. You’re capable. You just…forget.

This book was raw as it was poignant to issues like foster care and addiction. I haven’t read the first book but I loved seeing Dean and Amelia grow together and bloom. Seeing how the symbolism of a lightning bolt transforms through stages of their relationship. The author definitely understood the assignment of cheese (I love 🧀), cats, and how foster care and addiction works on people.

I loved seeing how ASL was used outside of the FMC and MMC. How the MMC struggled with custody of his daughter and addiction but became a better person in the end. Such a unique found family!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐= Knocked my socks off. Will not stop talking about it. Have lost friends because I won’t shut up about it. Will take it personally if you do not stop what you’re doing and start reading it. Would actually read it again. A hot guy who is smart AND so pretty. A perfect cloudless 75 degree day.

⭐⭐⭐⭐= Knocked only one sock off. Will more than likely follow/read everything by the author and will keep a copy on my bookshelf. Chai tea on a cool crisp autumn afternoon.

⭐⭐⭐= Neutral; did not lose any socks over this book and will be wishing I got it at the library instead of purchasing. An average piece of work. If it were an ice cream flavor, it would be vanilla.

⭐⭐= Wouldn’t recommend to someone I like. Overall meh feeling on this one.

⭐ = Waste of time, VERY close to not finishing it but my parents didn’t raise a quitter. Will mourn the loss of time that could’ve been spent reading something else. Kissing someone with bad breath.
