Heartwarming story about Eddie. He is a 90-year-old man working at a thrift store. Not, because he has to, but because he loves it and it keeps him busy. He has never been married. Even worse, due to life’s circumstances, he’s never even been kissed.

The book centres on his friendship with Belle, a young woman who is grieving the loss of her boyfriend.

The story is a bit syrupy, but I can’t help but like it because Belle and Eddie develop such a true and honest friendship. She wants to find him someone to date. She wants him to be happy.

The current day story has a backstory explaining, very gradually, why Eddie has never married.

I found the flow of the story a bit disjointed and choppy at times. But, since it was mainly character driven, I overlooked that. It has a few life lessons for the reader. You’re never too old to seek what makes you happy.

Fasting, entertaining read. It’s a sweet story, good for distraction from today’s world. It’s a feel good book.
