The story kicks off with a sudden death outside a Seattle church. At first, it looks like a cardiac failure—but the truth is far more terrifying. A hacker has discovered a way to remotely interfere with AI-enhanced pacemakers, and he’s not just showing off his skills—he’s making demands. The CEO of the company responsible for the devices is told to shut down operations, or more people will die. Arnold Gold and his elite team of cyber detectives are brought in to investigate. These tech experts must move fast to uncover the hacker’s identity and motive, before the casualty count rises and public trust in life-saving technology crumbles

This book is amazing. While it’s the 8th in a series, you don’t have to read the others to read this book. However, I WILL be going back and reading the others. I have not read many books about cyber crimes and I absolutely LOVED it! The hacking aspect of this book was so interesting, but the hacking of a medical device is also so scary. It’s scary because it feels like this is real. While this story is fiction, the reality is, the hacking may have already happened and I just don’t know it.

The author did such a great job of making the story accessible. I’m not a tech person. I don’t understand a lot of it, and I don’t even use newer apps. So the fact that I was able to follow along with the hacking concepts was amazing for me. So I do want to say a big THANK YOU to this author for breaking it down so nicely for those of us that just don’t understand. It helped me enjoy the book that much more!

The cast of characters was great and the dynamics between all of them was great as well. Personalities clashed. I don’t want to give anything away, but go Prisha!

Anyway, I implore you to get your hands on this book, you won’t regret it!
