I’ve never read anything around NYE so this was fun to read. I enjoyed the storyline and the family secrets that were revealed. Slightly spicy but it did not disrupt the story, Nick and Jamie’s connection was deeper than the circumstances that led them to be together and was mature. I liked how the climax happened right around the ball drop. Now as a part of a series it did throw me off in the beginning of the book, about her abduction, and I wish there was more about Jamie’s past love life, but I am sure that is in the previous books. The ex stalking Jamie’s brother added drama to New Year Eve Day activities and the family drama between her mother and aunt. What really interested me was how D.W. Brooks is a kidney transplant survivor, that had to be a rough transition, and you can tell through her FMC how she’s a survivor.
