“We all live day to day completely oblivious to the fact that we’re a part of a much larger and stranger reality than we can possibly imagine.”
WOW! This book has left my speechless. Jason Dessen was walking home, got kidnapped, and woke up in a lab. But this life isn’t his – his wife isn’t his wife, and his son doesn’t exist. He’s told he’s been missing for 14 months. Jason is a genius scientist, and his discovery is scary.
This book is like nothing I have ever read before. Crouch is a genius author! Have I ever thought of this before, where there is an alternate universe where I’m living a different life? Yes. I would have never thought to write a book about it! This book is so unique. Crouch really lures you in right from the start, and just keeps you reading. The suspense had me holding my breath from the very start of the book.
There wasn’t a huge twist that was revealed, but there doesn’t need to be one because you still want to keep flipping pages to see what is going to happen with the book. I honestly didn’t see the end coming, I didn’t have any idea how the book was going to end. I was scared for real Jason for a bit.
All of the characters are well developed, they all serve a purpose. I am left with some questions at the end, but that still doesn’t take away from me making this a 5 star read!

This book left me speechless too 🙂 The idea of alternate universes and waking up in a life that isn’t your own is both terrifying and fascinating. It reminded me of a time I dreamt I was living a completely different life, and waking up was a jolt back to reality. Blake Crouch’s storytelling pulled me in from the start, and I couldn’t put it down. The suspense and well-developed characters kept me hooked. Like you, I didn’t see the end coming and was on edge for Jason the entire time. Definitely a 5-star read for me as well!
