She was a simple gal. If it didn’t fit in her duffle bag, then it wasn’t necessary.

Her life was spared, but at what price? Emilia was living her best life…Until she was stabbed and left for dead. It all started with the folklore of an ancient blade. Emilia and her father, the famous Caretti archeologist duo, made the biggest discovery of their careers when they found the mythical blade of Marina.

They had a plan. Take the blade back to New York. Add it to their collection at the museum. And share its history with the world. But others had a different plan. Steal the blade and leave no witnesses.

Emilia sacrificed herself to save her father. Her life cut short in an instant. Or so she thought…

Emilia wakes with her wounds magically healed, her father missing, and a mysterious tattoo on her back. The blade has a strange hold over her and with the help of the handsome medical examiner, Zach Knight, Emilia goes in search of answers to find out how to break the… Curse of the Blade.

This is a standalone novella from romantasy author GM Katz. She is a retired USAF veteran and uses her experiences traveling the world to write historical and urban fantasy romance. She loves creating alternate versions of the world know with elements of magic & myth, mystery, intrigue, suspense, and love. Breaking the walls of reality as we know it.

My Review:

I loved this! Fast paced, dual POV with Italian mythology in it as well. The FMC and MMC were destined to be together just like the knife on the FMCs back. It was like Twilight Zone meets Lara Croft! Just enough spice to keep it spicy but not distracting from the storyline. It was such a surprise when the father even had a love interest! Like…what?!
