This has to be one of my favorite books this month. Daphne is a knitting influencer who just had a birthday and committed herself to a yes year ā€“ a year of saying yes and having new adventures. She bumps into Cameron, a hot footballer who plays in the Premier League, only she doesnā€™t have a clue who he is. After a hot, magical night, they party ways and go about their lives. Until their lives collide again. Except now, heā€™s a grump. Heā€™s focused on football, and canā€™t seem to connect with his team, canā€™t seem to get it right on the field, and is trying to keep Daphne at armā€™s length. They both have feelings, but they are both holding back, can they break down their walls and find each other?

There is SO much to love about this book. This is a first for me by these authors and I cannot wait to read the next one in the series. The romance in this book was spot on. The yearning between the two characters was fantastic. The flirting, the banter, the touches, getting their inner thoughts, all of it was awesome. I enjoyed getting both Daphneā€™s and Cameronā€™s perspectives. I fell in love with these two characters falling in love.

There is SO much more to this book though. One of Daphneā€™s platforms is mental health, so there is a lot of mental health representation in this book, with a focus on anxiety. That looks different ways for everyone and the way that the authorā€™s handled anxiety, using medication to help, and therapy was great. Mainly, they didnā€™t make it a big deal! Because itā€™s not! It shouldnā€™t be stigmatized, it shouldnā€™t be looked at like ā€œoh, you have to be on meds for that?!ā€ It made my heart cry how normal it all came across.

Lastly, I think it was beautiful to have Cameron open up and focus on his mental health. Again, thereā€™s a huge stigma about men and mental health issues. It was encouraging to see this representation in this book not just from Daphne, but also in Cameron who had his own mental health issues to deal with. I really hope we see more of this by more authors.

This book weaves together all of this and gives you a fantastic rom-com that you wonā€™t want to miss out on reading!
