My Review:

I don’t read a lot of graphic novels, but I was blown away by the artwork in this one. The color scheme choice is dynamic and I liked that it alerted you to the location changes.

I also really liked the twist on the fairy tale by having the princess being the hero/savior. More of a modern fairy tale with the female characters being strong and leading the story. I found the story a little confusing at the beginning, but I was rewarded for reading on. And I hope there is more to come and this is a series as I wanted to know more about these characters.

Anyone who loves a twist on the old fairy tales should enjoy this book.

LEIGH DRAGOON was raised in a log cabin in the Adirondacks, where she developed an early love of reading and writing. She became a fan of Little Women at age nine, after Beth’s demise made her bawl herself to sleep. This led to a lifelong appreciation of the book. After years of annual rereads, she became fascinated with learning about Louisa May and her family. She adapted both Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy and Marie Lu’s Legend series into graphic novel scripts. She has also written two prose Adventure Time novels: Queen of Rogues and The Lonesome Outlaw.

freelance animator, storyboard artist, and character designer working in NYC. She graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Animation in 2014.
