About the book

“Have you heard from Eviana?” Simon’s voice is shaky. “She went for a walk this afternoon and she never came back.” My heart seizes in my chest, an invisible fist clenching it tight.

Five days ago, my sister told me she was going to die. And now she’s missing.

My sister Eviana has it all – a wonderful husband, a beautiful home and a successful career.

Then one day, she disappears into thin air.

Scratching beneath the surface of her picture-perfect life, I discover that everything isn’t quite as wonderful as it seems. Eviana was receiving threatening messages. She was hiding something.

Something with deadly consequences.

I get the feeling that Simon knows more than he’s admitting. But then again, so do I. Because my sister and I have a secret. A secret so dark we have kept it hidden all our lives.

And if anyone finds out, it will destroy everything…

My Review

This is the second book I’ve read by the author and she is very good at keeping me guessing about what happened to a missing character.  Full of all types of secrets, between estranged sisters, a recent reconciliation and the sister is now missing, I was on my toes trying to figure out who, if anyone is reliable.  It was hard to like any of the characters, but I wanted to know what had and was happening.

While taking place is the present when the MCs sister is missing, this one does delve into the sisters’ past and what led them up to the estrangement.  They’ve had a not so perfect childhood and of course there are feelings of resentment that leads up to their estrangement.

I both listened and read this one and loved Amelia Sciandra’s narration.  She really brought the story to life and kept me wanting more.

If you like a good childhood drama domestic suspense, you need to read this one.
