Rose has grown up in a wealthy family, and with that comes expectations. Her mother’s expectations are that she marry someone equally as wealthy, with a good last name – even if it means that they have cheated on her. When she meant to join one dating app, she accidently joined a different one where you don’t get to see who you’re talking to. And there she started talking to “Big Spoon.” This Big Spoon seems to be so different than anyone she’s ever been with. Meanwhile, at work, her ceiling springs a leak. With that comes the grumpy repairman, Nate. She can’t wait for him to be gone. Then they are thrown together during a blizzard. Some revelations come to light. Will Rose do what’s expected of her? Or will she follow her heart?
This book literally made me smile from ear to ear. It made my heart sing. This was my first introduction to this author, but I can tell you, this won’t be the last book I read by this author. I love reading books about dating apps for some reason. Maybe it’s because I used to use them and never found any good luck, or maybe it’s because I know what it’s like to develop feelings when just talking over one. Whatever it is, I enjoy reading the witty banter.
What made this book SO different from others is that these characters were actual adults and acted like actual adults. They weren’t perfect. But they were open and vulnerable. They had the hard conversations. There was no reason to suspend belief in this book because everything written was believable.
I loved reading Rose realizing who she wanted to be and what she wanted out of life instead of living it for others. And Nate was so sweet and understanding. Her brother George had some great words of wisdom too.
Romance readers, you NEED to read this book!!!
