OwlCrate – A Box of Bookish Goodies
OwlCrate is one of many book boxes currently available for all the bibliophiles of the world. OwlCrate’s focus is on Young Adult, and each monthly box includes a new young adult book and several bookish goodies. Included in the goodies will always be a pin.
Best of all (for those collectors out there) each month has a special theme for the entire box.
April’s theme for OwlCrate was Ruthless Rivals.

*In case it wasn’t obvious, don’t look too closely at the rest of this post, if you’re hoping to avoid spoilers!
Book – April’s OwlCrate is a Jamaican-inspired fantasy titled Witches Steeped in Gold. Personally, I’m head over heels about this selection. Not only does the book sound amazing, but the alterations made for the OC exclusive version are stunning. The color palette on the dust jacket is slightly different, but it’s the reverse side that’s a real eye-catcher in my book! Not to mention the foil stamp on the hardcover itself. – Check back on May 30th for Cat’s review!
Bookish Goodies – Time to add another pin to my collection! But seriously, this month’s OC pin is quite pretty, and it’s one of the largest ones in my collection. Always a positive!
Bookish Card Game – This is the first time I’ve seen a bookish card game included in a book box. The game itself is called Et Cetera, and it looks like it might be a lot of fun to play. I just need to round up some of my bookish friends before I can give it a go.
Coffee – Fable Grounds Coffee included a bag of their coffee in this month’s box. It’s inspired by Where Dreams Descend, but not being a coffee drinker (sacrilege, I know) I can’t really comment on the taste. Though I might end up using it to make coffee extract for all of my baking needs!
Phone Wallet – I am so torn about the phone wallet! On the one hand, it is super cute and has a quote from Hamilton on it. On the other hand, it doesn’t work great with my particular phone setup.
Chopstick Set – OwlCrate included a really cute chopstick set. Well, actually, two sets. There are four in the tin all things told, one representing each rival gang from These Violent Delights.
Throw Pillowcase – The throw pillowcase in this month’s box is so pretty, though I’ll confess that I know nothing about the fandom (Nevernight). I love the colors and the flowers on it, so I think I’ll be using it anyway.
Next up is May’s theme: Expect the Unexpected! The spoiler card promises an officially licensed Leigh Bardugo item by Out of Print. Um, yes, please! It’s also going to have the next Shades of Magic tin, which I cannot wait to see.
