This is an enemy -to-lovers like I haven’t read before. A mix-and-match family of siblings that were adopted into a home when they didn’t have one. Who basically “adopted” animals who didn’t have a home either on their family farm. The MMC comes from bad blood and escapes to make his life better but then later comes back home-more determined to be more of a man than his father was. There were so many twists that intertwined with the Wild family that there was never a dull moment between the cycle of angst from the MFC and to the town hating her whole family.
Like the author mentioned at the end of the book, “My heroes are a bit broken but will make you swoon. My heroines are their own kick-ass characters armed with humor and a plethora of sarcasm”. All three sisters had plenty of sass and sarcasm. The MMC was definitely swoon worthy in his old-fashioned country way. *Pulls out fan* I think even the animals were sassy themselves. I definitely will read book 2 when it comes out.
One thing I did not like which wasn’t a lot, was how the MFC had this cycle of acting like a scared rabbit because of her past then she would trust the MMC and open her heart and then shut herself off going back to her past. I did LIKE how the author capitalized the “h” when referring to God.
