This book was like no other book that I have read. Such raw emotion, such passion coming through the book as I read each page. This story follows three generations of Palestinian – Americans females as they struggle between their own desires and the strict Arab culture that was bestowed upon them growing up. The author allowed the reader a glimpse of what females face every day in Arab Culture. It was also an interesting read because although the books focused on a Palestinian – American family (3 generations) this book is also speaking for other females of all walks of life. I cried, I possibly dropped so “F” bombs, I felt all the emotions while reading.

I really enjoyed this story, it taught me about another culture and that although I am not Arabic, but also I am not alone either. There are no two females that are similar. I am grateful that I read this story.
