Rune and Poppy meet as young kids and form a bond like no other. But when Rune has to return to Norway because of his father’s job when he’s 15 years old, he feels like his life, and his love is ripped away from him. Afterall, him and Poppy have been inseparable. At first, him and Poppy kept in touch, but then out of nowhere, she stops answering his calls, texts and he never hears from her again. 2 years later, Rune returns to Georgia from Norway. He’s hoping to get some answers as to why Poppy, the girl that holds half his heart, would forget about him. But the answer wasn’t what he was expecting at all, and he will soon know heartache that he never imagined.
Wow, this book was just…. WOW! My heart literally broke as I was reading this book. It broke for both Rune and Poppy. Going into this book, I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t read the blurb, but I had heard a lot of good things, so I gave it a try. I had no idea that I was about to spend the second half of this book crying my eyes out. Sometimes I cried tears of sadness, and sometimes I cried tears of happiness. The way that Rune and Poppy loved each other is almost unheard of, especially when you’re 17 years old. But at every moment throughout the book, I felt their love. Tillie did such an amazing job of making the reader feel everything – the happiness, the love, and even the sadness. That is such a talent! I also didn’t expect the ending at all, but I did want to know slightly more. A true 5 star read for me, and a must read. However, be prepared to cry.
